Golden Gate Bridge

Back to California
The Golden Gate Bridge connects San Francisco to Marin County and is painted in a special color called 'International Orange' that helps it stand out against the blue water and sky. On foggy days, the bridge looks like it's floating in the clouds! The bridge is so tall that big ships can sail underneath it, and it's strong enough to handle thousands of cars every day. Engineers designed it to sway gently in the wind and even during earthquakes, which keeps it safe and sturdy.
